Kim is a music and movie loving mama to two teen boys living in a tiny town in the south. While she loves all kinds of music (especially the hair bands, and all that OTHER cheesy 80s stuff, too!), her heart truly belongs to Metal and Outlaw Country. Her love of music began at an early age. For as long as she can remember, her parents always had music playing as a background to just about any and every family activity. And, long before MTV, she can vividly recall her Dad waking her up so she could watch The Midnight Special on Friday nights. Her fascination with the darker side of music began around age 7, when the babysitter's kid introduced her to Kiss. Much to her mother's chagrin, that was that. It's been a strange, fun ride ever since!

So a while back when my friend Laura suggested we go to the Halloween Weezer show in Atlanta (the last…

If you’ve ever wanted to be in a rock video

Now may be your chance! I grew up in the Hair Band era, and remember how crazy all the guys were about seeing Tawny Kitaen “shake her ass on the hood of Whitesnake’s car.” And I can’t vouch for all girls, but back then? I would have LOVED that much attention. Nowadays, I prefer writing…

The Vampire Diaries – Obsession never sounded so good

In the not-so-distant past, successful soundtracks were predominantly limited to the motion picture industry. However, since the late 90s, we’ve been seeing more and more popular TV soundtracks make an appearance on the charts. One such television show soundtrack that I feel no music fan should be without is Original Television Soundtrack: The Vampire Diaries….

Rockin’ Mama Rain Perry turns up the heat on Internal Combustion

Southern California native and indie singer/songwriter Rain Perry is perhaps best known for her ode to the atypical family, “Beautiful Tree”. Featured on her 2008 album Cinderblock Bookshelves, this song is more commonly known as the theme for The CW’s quirky hit family drama, Life Unexpected.

We need more cowbell up in here!

And I’m just the one to bring it! Seriously, I am shaking my booty in my seat as I post this. And I challenge you NOT to!
