For Tiffani Hill-Patterson, her name is not the only thing hyphenated. So is her life: writer-mama-secretary-athlete. She’s also a music lover, a college football fan (Roll Tide!), and a voracious reader (when she has time).
The award-winning journalist-copyeditor-photographer has written for Parenting, VisitSouth.com, Game On, Volta Voices, and Preserve Your Memory. Her headlines have appeared in the Dallas Morning News, The Huntsville Times, and The (Florence, Ala.) TimesDaily. In addition to her The Music Mamas work, she also writes a monthly column for Birmingham Parent magazine.
When it comes to music, she grew up on Elvis, the Commodores, Loretta Lynn, the Eagles and Merle Haggard, and they’re still in heavy rotation. She especially adores the ’80s, when her thoughts about love and loss, heartbreak and desire were echoed by Bon Jovi, New Kids on the Block, Janet Jackson, and Debbie Gibson. Among her more recent downloads (legal, of course) are Jonathan Tyler & The Northern Lights, Amos Lee, and Adele. And, yes, Justin Bieber. After all, she does have a 10-year-old daughter.
